Every competition is based on certain parameter. Generally, its preparation starts just after 12th or while pursuing your graduation. Coaching classes just enable you to equip the study contents easily. Tests are based on following skills sets as:
(a)English Language test
(b)Quantitative/Analytical test
(c)Reasoning based on English, maths or both
(d)GS, i.e. general study. It is a speed based test
