CAT test does not have a predefined syllabus. CAT tests candidates in general aptitude including Verbal Ability (English), Quantitative Ability (Mathematics), Logical Reasoning (LR) and Data Interpretation (DI) skills. Following are main three sections of examination: (a)Quantitative Ability (QA): Geometry, Trigonometry, Probability, Number System, Permutation & Combination, Speed, Time and Distance, Profit and Loss, Logarithmic Equations, HCF and LCM, Ratio, Quadratic and Linear Equations, Algebra, Mensuration, Percentages, progressions, Complex Numbers, Simple and Compound Interest etc. (b) Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning: Ta

From more than 60 years, XLRI is conducting XAT at all India level to select the most appropriate students for management education. The XAT score is being used by more than 100 institutes for the admission. Eligibility criteria to appear for XAT is recognised Bachelors degree of minimum three years duration or equivalent in any discipline. There is no fixed syllabus of XAT. XAT examination consists of the following sections to evaluate students suitability for various Management programs: Quantitative Ability, English Language and Logical Reasoning, Decision Making, General Knowledge and Essay.

Admission to MBA programme is based on extempore speech, personal interview & CAT score (Common Admission Test conducted by Indian Institutes of Management ). Applicants who have not taken CAT are not considered for admission.

For PGDM programs at JIMS, Rohini following are the scores to get qualified for their GD/PI process.
Valid Score of any one of the following
CAT 75 Percentile for PGDM, 65 Percentile for PGDM- IB and 60 Percentile for PGDM- RM
MAT 580 Composite Score for PGDM and 500 Composite Score for PGDM- IB/RM
CMAT 70 Percentile for PGDM, 55 Percentile for PGDM- IB and 50 Percentile for PGDM- RM
XAT 70 percentile for PGDM, PGDM- IB 55 percentile and 45 percentile for PGDM- RM
ATMA 60 percentile for PGDM, PGDM- IB55 percentile and 50 percentile for PGDM- RM

In order to crack CAT and get admission in top B-school, you must start your preparation early. Therefore, you can start your informal preparation now and dedicated concentrated preparation six months before examination.
