For admission in certification course, you need to have appeared for either XAT, GMAT, MAT, CMAT or CAT without which admission won't be possible.

MAT exam is comparatively easier than CAT Exam, level of difficulty in CAT is more than MAT. Also, MAT fetches penalty of 0.25 for each wrong question but CAT fetches 1/3 or say 0.33 penalty for wrong answer. I hope this would help.

Both MAT and CAT are entrance examinations that management colleges accept. There are several institutes which accept both. Both are fairly popular as well. However CAT is the exam which helps you most and is accepted by the best B-Schools in India. On the other hand MAT is the easier version.
