Yes, companies that recruit from ISB do consider past academic records, but they follow a holistic approach in their selection process. Academic performance is important, especially recent scores like GMAT/GRE, but factors such as work experience, leadership qualities, and the fit between the candidate's skills and the role also play a crucial role. While a strong academic background can improve your chances, companies value a well-rounded profile that includes professional experience and personal achievements.

PES University typically requires a strong academic record and performance in entrance exams like CAT, MAT, PESSAT, or equivalent for MBA admissions. A 75% in B.Com is a competitive score, but your admission will largely depend on your entrance exam score, interview performance, and overall profile, including any work experience. For CAT 2024, the Indian Institute of Management Indore (IIM Indore) has set distinct cutoff percentiles for several categories:

  • 90 percentile for General and Economically Weaker Sections (EWS).
  • 80 percentile for Non-Creamy Layer Other Backward Classes (NC-OBC)
  • 60 percentile for Scheduled Castes (SC)
  • 45 percentile for persons with Disabilities (PwD) and Scheduled Tribes (ST)

For candidates to be eligible for the Written Ability Test (WAT) and Personal Interview (PI), the next steps in the selection process must meet these cutoffs, which are the minimal CAT percentiles.
