For the PGDM course, the students need to complete an online application form followed by PI and a review of the application. CAT/GMAT, CMAT, XAT and other MAT exam scores and the comments of the interview panel are considered for admission. The admission committee invites selected students for admission to the programme. Yes, over the years, the IIM-A has formed partnerships with leading Management schools in Europe, North America, Australia, New Zealand, South America, South Africa and the Asia-Pacific region. Every year, out of the second year class, appriximately 150 students are selected to spend one academic term abroad at a partner institute and IIM-A accepts about 90 students from its partners for the same period.

The IIM Ahmedabad PGP (MBA) placement process is conducted in clusters. The first stage is the lateral placement process, where companies interview students with work experience and offer them mid-level managerial positions. In the second stage, the PGP final placement process is conducted where companies were grouped into cohorts (domains such as Consulting, Finance, etc.) based on the profiles offered, and these cohort groups were invited to campus across three clusters for final placements.

As per the details collated from unofficial sources, the total tuition fee for the PGP and PGP FABM course for the 2024-26 batch is INR 18.3 Lacs (inclusive of all taxes). However, the aforementioned fee is only indicative considering it is sourced from unofficial sources. However, as per the official website, the over MBA programme fee is inclusive of tuition fee, course materials fee, student’s stay and food during campus visits and other service facilities, such as library, etc. Students can also pay this programme fee in installments. While IIM-A does not have a minimum score required for admission, candidates are advised to aim for a score between 70 and 75 percentile in both the quantitative and verbal sections of the GMAT/GRE. Students must also note that standardised tests are just one of several admission criteria.

Meant for working professionals, candidates seeking admission must have a bachelor's degree and at least four years of experience. On successful completion of this course students are given a Master of Business Administration degree. For admission, it is mandatory for all eligible candidates to take a GMAT/ GRE test. In the final selection process, candidates are also required to appear for a PI round and submit an essay.
