In 2024, the closing rank for Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) was 40258 which is very close to this range. This was for the All India quota General Category. Unless the candidate belongs to some other category or domicile, one cannot afford to score less than this. With this rank, there is a probability of getting admission however since, the cut offs keep changing year on year, it is advisable to try to score better ranks to increase your chances of getting admission in Kasturba Medical College, Manipal, Manipal Academy of Higher Education.

Securing a seat for MBBS at a government college may be difficult if you have a rank of 27,430 and fall into the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) category. This rank makes it difficult to get into a government MBBS seat, even though other state government colleges or private medical schools may have somewhat lower cutoffs. You can pursue an MBBS as an engineering degree, but there are conditions you need to fulfil. In your 10+2 or equivalent level, you must have studied Physics, Chemistry, and Biology with the necessary percentage (typically between 50 and 60 percent). The plan calls for taking the NEET UG exam, which is a prerequisite for admission to the MBBS programme in India. You can apply to public or private medical colleges based on your NEET score. You will need to commit time to your NEET preparation, with a particular emphasis on biology-related subjects.
