Hi Chavi,
Commencing academic year 2015-16, every MBBS student seeking admission to post-graduate medical courses in the country will have to undergo a mandatory rural posting at a PHC (Public Health Centre) for one year.

Now, how do the doctors make the money back? One simple half an hour procedure costs roughly Rs 20,000 for half an hour procedur

Hi James,
People are now more conscious about their careers nowadays unlike previous generation . Being an engineer will lead you to no where unless you go and study MS or MBA . Without higher studies ,in both salary wise and respect wise your career doesn't amount much if you are an engineer .

Of Course Civil Services(IAS) can be pursued by any recognised degree holder. There are many doctors who are district collectors now and hold similar responsible positions in administrative services.

Hi Reshu,
It's not only college that is in question, you also need to maintain a hospital with 27 departments and that takes a lot and lot of money. So private medical colleges are way expensive than engineering colleges.
Hope this information helps. Please feel free to revert. Click on the thumbs up

This is a good / steady joke, reservation system is a curse, especially in higher education. The reservation should be based on family income only. This not only frustrates general people but also compromises the quality of education. This also causes division between students. Every logica

Hi Lovey,
In India, after 10+2 students have to appear for entrance test like PMT, CBSE or AFMC etc to get admission into about five-year graduate programme of MBBS. After a valid MBBS degree, you can practice medicine independently or either pursue a post graduate degree of MD or MS.
If you plan to

Hi Lovey,
Most of the students think that once we enter a medical college, we just have to treat patients and don't have much dynamic career options like other professions. That is certainly not the case.
MD/MS/Diploma - This is the most commonly chosen path after MBBS for people who wish to continue
