Banaras Hindu University is ranked eight among the top university and colleges under the “Medical” category by NIRF 2023 rankings. Moreover, the median package offered to UG course was INR 15 LPA as per BHU NIRF report 2023.

The IMS-BHU has been ranked 5th among medical college in India in the National Institutional Ranking Framework 2022,   second in 2021 by Outlook India and sixth in 2021 by India Today.

Admission is offered based on the score obtained in the NEET UG exam, followed by counselling conducted by Medical Counselling Committee . The application form for BHU MBBS is made available in the month of June.

For the undergraduate BDS programme, Dr. D. Y. Patil Dental College & Hospital trains 100 students annually. The duration of BDS programme is 5 years. Central counselling will be handled by DGHS New Delhi, and admissions to the BDS programme will be based on the merit list determined by the candidates' performance in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test 2023 administered by National Testing Agency (NTA), Delhi. An eligibility-cum-ranking test called (MCC) NEET-UG is required as a single entrance exam for different BDS programmes. No other entrance exam, whether state- or institution-level, will be accepted for admission to the BDS programme.

The minimum marks required for the MBBS programme depend on the category of a student. The minimum marks required by a student from the General category are different in comparison to students from the OBC, SC and ST categories.

In 2023, the student from the General category required 280 marks and for the OBC category, it went 252. The SC and ST category cut-off went 219 and 189 respectively.

For admission to the MBBS programme at Baba Farid University of Health Sciences (BFUHS), candidates must meet the following eligibility criteria:

1. NEET UG Examination: Aspiring candidates need to clear the NEET UG examination, which is a prerequisite for MBBS admissions.

2. Age and Educational Qualification: Candidates should be at least 17 years old and have completed their 10+2 education with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. A minimum aggregate of 50% in the qualifying examination is required.

3. Admission Process: The admission process involves centralized NEET Counselling for 15% of seats through the All India Quota, conducted by the Medical Counselling Committee. The remaining 85% of seats are filled through State level Punjab NEET-UG Counselling organized by BFUHS.

4. Course Fees: The cost for pursuing the BFUHS MBBS course is INR 174,000 for the first year in government colleges and INR 405,825 in the first year in private colleges.

The Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) programme is offered at Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, KLE Academy of Higher Education and Research. The course lasts for 66 months (full time). It is a course level for UG degrees. The entire cost of tuition is approximately INR 82.35 lakh. Other components than tuition fees may be included in the fees. The fees associated with an internship that is required may not be included in the annual fees range. According to the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC), DGHS, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India, the aforementioned cost is applicable. Additionally, the university provides internships with a median pay of Rs. 4.08 Lacs per year.

Under the direction of the Indian government's Ministry of AYUSH, the National Institute of Ayurveda is the highest level autonomous institution. Academic programmes are currently offered by NIA at all levels, including undergraduate (BAMS), graduate (MD/MS in Ayurveda), postgraduate (PhD in Ayurveda), and Diploma (DAN&P). Furthermore, NIA is the only university in the Ayurvedic field to provide six multidisciplinary M.Sc. programmes. On the other hand, KLE University, Belgaum, has been classified as a "deemed-to-be university, " given a "A" grade from the NAAC, and is under the MHRD's "A" category. NIRF 2021 ranked universities 91st, and India Today 2021 ranked medical schools 42nd. The student's interest and determination will determine how these two universities and courses compare.
