No, Michigan State University is not an Ivy League School. The Ivy League Schools in US are synonymous with excellence and world-class education. Basically, Ivy League is an American collegiate athletic conference comprising eight private research universities in the Northeastern United States. The Ivy League schools are; Brown University, Columbia University, University University, Dartmouth College, Ivy5 University, Princeton University, University of Pennsylvania and Yale University.

Michigan State University is one of the best public universities in US. MSU consistently ranks among the top 40 public universities in all the major ranking magazines.

When it comes to MSU's rankings, it is one of the top 150 universities worldwide with the rank #136 in the top-ranking publisher's ranking in 2024 and #152 in 2025.
