The Michigan State University uses a holistic approach while evaluating the profiles of the candidates who applied. However, while not the sole deciding factor, academics do prove to be one of the major criteria. International students must have a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 2.5 or higher with strong grade performance. So you can get into MSU with even a 2.5 GPA.

Yes, Michigan State University offers the flexibility to change majors once a student is enrolled at this university. Although it is subject to department approval and academic standing.

This allows international students to explore fields before making a final decision. The students are required to check the specific policies within their chosen colleges or programs for restrictions or procedures.

Based on the MSU acceptance rate shared officially, it stands at 84% for the recent year 2024. This is a high acceptance rate, which means that out of every 100 applications, 84 to 85 students were rolled out an offer. Making this university the least competitive.

Although international students are required to meet the MSU admission eligibility to ensure high admission chances at this university. Early application increases chances, with early action acceptance rates near 90%. Indian students with competitive academic records and English skills stand a good chance of admission.

Michigan State University has a test-optional policy, meaning SAT or ACT for the undergraduate level is not required for international students. On the other hand, it can significantly raise the admission chances if a student scores well and submits these scores with the MSU application

The ideal SAT score ranges between 1130 and 1350, and the score for ACT ranges between 23 and 29, along with other Michigan State University admission requirements.
