Michigan Technological University Admission Process

Prospective international students of Michigan Technological University can apply through the Common Application available on the university's website. MTU has two intake seasons: Spring (January Start Date) and Fall (August Start Date). While applying to this university, all the overseas applicants are required to pay an application fee of $10 = INR 867.88. Also, students must be aware of the application deadlines, so that they don't miss out on the opportunity to apply. While applying to MTU, applicants are required to send the following documents:

• Completed online application along with $10 = INR 867.88 application fee; and
• Official academic transcripts or attested mark sheets.

Applicants must NOT send letters of recommendation, photographs, portfolios, personal essays or additional documents unless they are specifically required by the Michigan Technological University's Admissions Office. Doing so may delay the student's application decision.

It is strongly recommended students have a fourth year of college-prep mathematics, the core of which should be college algebra and analytic geometry, the elementary functions, limits, and similar precalculus topics. Other topics might include probability, statistics, permutations and combinations, mathematics induction, an introduction to the use of sets and introduction to computers and computing or an introduction to matrices and determinants. The emphasis should be placed on basic concepts and the principles of deductive reasoning, regardless of the choice of topic. Calculus, where offered in secondary schools, should be at least a full-year course and be taken by students who are strongly prepared in algebra, geometry, trigonometry, and coordinate geometry.
