Currently, the opportunities are very less for M.Tech in Mining. If you have a clear vision of opportunities you can go ahead. Otherwise, after B.Tech mechanical engineering, you can pursue mechatronics or robotics in your post graduation.

The BTech Mining Engineering syllabus is not similar for all colleges and universities in India. Every college follows a certain set of syllabus guidelines that they follow and set the syllabus keeping in mind a particular framework. But, the general topics covered in Mining Engineering classes are usually the same.
Talking about the elective subjects, yes of course. You will have a pool of electives to choose from during the entire course duration. You can pick the elective subject as per your interest and then even go on to pursue a specialisation in the same in the future which will help you fetch a job easily.

Here's the list of some of the important documents you must keep ready with you for admission to Mining Engineering courses in India:
- Class 12th mark sheet with at least 50 to 60% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics subjects.
- Class 10th mark sheet (if applying for Diploma courses or otherwise).
- A valid ID proof like Adhaar, Passport, PAN Card, etc.
- Migration and character certificates, if required.
- Transfer certificate (if applicable)

It differs on the basis of the institution offering the course. Every college and university has their own admission procedure that they follow for admitting students to Mining Engineering courses at various levels. The time involved in the entire admission procedure may take a few weeks to a few months. There are a lot of steps before you are allotted the final seat and your admission is confirmed so you must keep an eye on all the important admission-related events of the colleges you are targeting.

The answer is in the affirmative. Generally, after the declaration of the entrance exam results, you need to apply online for the counselling process of the colleges you're targeting. Do upload all the important documents and submit the counselling fee. Then, you will get a confirmation mail from the colleges' end after your documents are verified, which happens mostly within 24 hours.

To secure admission to Mining Engineering courses at some of the best colleges in India, you must meet the minimum eligibility requirements. For UG-level courses, you must secure at least 50 to 60% marks in Class 12 in the PCM subjects. For reserved category candidates, the marks eligibility requirement is usually relaxed by 5%.
