Even Companies like Disney, Prana, Prime Focus, Rhythm & Hues, Technicolor, Toonz, DQ, Nipuna etc have their established set-ups in India. Internet and computers are becoming such an essential part of living today, animation and multimedia professionals are more and more sought after. Recruiters like Animation Studios, Production Houses, TV Advertising Companies, Architectural Visualization Companies, Movie Makers(Animation & Bollywood),TV Channels, E-learning Companies, Internet Companies, Mobile & Console Gaming Cos, Medical-Legal-Insurance Cos regularly employ animation professionals for their various needs. Animators also work freelance and work is mostly awarded based on skills and capabilities exhibited by you.
Industry has scope across the globe & you will find Canada, UK etc. as preferred destination. Apart from India, for outsourcing, even China & Philippines are preferred destination.

Depends on the prestige of institute, you have to call them and check that out yourself . some good institute in a'bad are 1.Frame box , 2. Arena . one more I am forgetting a name . one more thing dear. Gujarat Uni-A'bad is offering MBA in Animation, fees for that course is 90,000/- for 2 years + UGC valid degree you'll have after that course . so think for that also , if you want some more info regarding that feel free to ask , you can always shoot me a mail on asit.aaj@gmail.com
Now coming to salary part, it will depend on your skill. v.large amount of variation has been seen in that. starting salary varies from 7000/- to 45,000/- PM . purely purely depends on skill skill and skill only. roughly you can think that you will be near about 12-15 k in starting.

Prakriti, I would recommend that if you are the best student in your city, take any of these fields and you'd be successful. This is the theory of relativity, the course is just as good as you are. Find out your real interest and follow it. Animation is an art form and a very demanding career. It has ample opportunities for the creatively talented people. Opportunities lie in animation design, game design, graphics, storyboarding, 3d modelling, texturing and lighting, Dynamics and VFX and of course animation (2D and 3D). However, choosing between these must be done after seeing your performance in each of these. So going for a generic course covering all or most of these would be the best way to get started in these careers. Typically you should have good sketching skills to be able to make a sound career in this (if you work hard you can improve your drawing skills tremendously). Nothing but your innermost talent and passion should lead you to the course and the institute you choose. Go speak to people over there and see if you like their philosophy and they change your perspective.Try their website for more details. Also remember that Animation requires good mentoring. Animation is a booming industry with wide job openings and you can work on full length animation movies or any other related fields such as television, advertising industry etc.
Some of the jobs offered in the industry are :
• Content developer
• Modeler
• Story Broad Artist
• Character animator
• Background artist

• Editor
Always remember, salary depends on various parameters such as size of the organization, profile, qualification, experience, etc.
But, still, to give you a brief idea,
- Junior animator or trainee : earn between Rs.10000 - 15000 per month.
- With three to five years experience : earn between Rs. 25000 to 40000.
- Well-experienced animator with good portfolio : earn between Rs. 50000 - 60000 per month.
