Yes, it is right to pursue a CS branch in any IIIT rather than a core branch in DTU/NSUT/NIT until and unless you are interested in any of the core branches as I am more interested in Industrial engineering so I've chosen it over any other branch.

DCRUST is good to go ahead. But placements depend on you and your skills.

Other is no such scope now in India, as it considers all automobile industry and there is no such industry recruitment process and company for hire mechanical engineers.

According to me, the best universities that you have mentioned is the computer Science engineering from Guru Jambheshwar, because one of my friend is studying there, and I know that he is enjoying, because he tells me about it and about the quality of education and the quality of exposure that he receives it not only helps him in getting a good job but also a good placement.

For electrical engineering, GNDEC is better, but overall, DCRUST, Murthal is better in terms of overall placement and infrastructure.
