The NID-AP Library & Resource Centre, as the Institute's core department, caters to the demands of the design fraternity and meets the information needs of Learning Patrons, Research Scholars, Faculty Members, and Staff Members. It strives high in information service and contributes to the Institute's Vision and Mission. In this context, the Institute Library will equip itself with Digital Collection Development and Digital Services in order to realise the primary purpose of Library Science - Right Information to the Right User at the Right Time. With roughly 3000 volumes and 40 subscription print journals, the LRC exclusively covers design-oriented literature. LRC analyses the potentiality of design and binds it with technology to provide patrons with 259 video DVDs for e-learning.

Given the frequency with which design periodicals are used, the LRC subscribes to the MAGZTER database, which contains over 5000 magazines on art, design, and textiles. Adopting a new approach to information access, the LRC subscribes to numerous online databases such as EBSCO, JSTOR, BLOOMSBURY, and journals that cover design-related titles from Elsevier, Emerald, Taylor & Francis, Oxford University Press, and others.

The LRC provides a Digital Content Portal that integrates offline and online resources to provide users with a single point of access to all information (Knowledge Hub). Enabling remote access to Koha-WebOPAC and all e-resources, KNIMBUS has powered an e-Library platform through which users (students and faculty members) are facilitated with remote access to subscribed e-resources from various publishers, integrating all resources under one roof.
