The National Institute of Design (NID) will release the NID DAT important dates 2021 most likely in the first week of October 2020. NID DAT 2021 comprises two stages - preliminary and the main exam which will be conducted tentatively in the last week of December 2020 and last week of April 2021 respectively. However, to appear in the NID DAT mains exam, candidates are required to clear the prelims exam.

The National Institute of Design Andhra Pradesh is established in September 2015 as an autonomous Institute under the DPIIT, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India. It is situated temporarily in Acharya Nagarjuna University on Guntur - Vijayawada highway (NH 16) as a transit campus before moving to permanent campus to come up in 50 acres site in Amravati, new Capital City of Andhra Pradesh. While National Institute of Design, Haryana, was established on November 15, 2016 as an autonomous institute under the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India, to emerge as a global leader in Design Education and Research. NID Haryana currently offers full-time four year Bachelor of Design (B. Des. ). With specialisation streams of
1. INDUSTRIAL DESIGN,
2. COMMUNICATION DESIGN and
3. TEXTILE & APPAREL DESIGN. The Rajya Sabha (State Assembly of India) passed the National Institute of Design (Amendment) Bill, 2019 which declares the four National Institutes of Design (NID) in Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Assam, and Haryana as institutions of national importance. So from above both NID have equal importance in terms of Infrastructure and faculty members. Hence can not differentiate here. You can choose anyone of them near to yours proximity.

The admission in NID for B.Des courses are based on NID Entrance exam (DAT Prelims) generally conducted in the month of December every year. The online application process for entrance exam will be begin in the first week of October 2020. NID conducts DAT Prelims and DAT Main exams for B.Des courses. DAT Main is conducted at NID center. The eligibility criteria for B.Des courses is given below.
Educational qualification : Applications for academic year 2020-21 are open to applicants who have passed or will appear for higher secondary (10+2) qualifying examinations in the academic year 2019-20 in any stream (Science, Arts, Commerce, Humanities, etc.) from any recognised board of education such as CBSE, IB, ICSE or their equivalent.
Age Limit:
1. For Indian Nationals in General Category and General EWS Category: Only those candidates born on or after 1 July 2000 are eligible to apply for admission.
2. For Indian Nationals in Reserved Category (Other Backward Class-Non Creamy Layer (OBC-NCL),
3. Scheduled Caste (SC) & Scheduled Tribe (ST)): Only those candidates born on or after 1 July 1997 are eligible to apply for admission.
4. For Indian Nationals in PwD Reserved Category: Only those candidates born on or after 1 July 1995 are eligible to apply for admission.
5. For Foreign Nationals in Overseas (Supernumerary) Category: Only those candidates born on or after 1 July 2000 are eligible to apply for admission.
