The National Institute of Design, Andhra Pradesh (NID Vijaywada) has 75 seats available for the Bachelor of Design (B.Des) curriculum. There are three disciplines in which these seats are divided:

-25 seats for industrial design

-25 seats for communication design

-25 seats for textile and apparel design

Candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) categories are also eligible to apply, in addition to the general seat intake. These seats are reserved in the following order:

-SC: Eleven seats, or 15% of the available seats,

-ST: six seats, representing 7.5% of the available seats overall

Step 1: Complete the Design Aptitude Test (DAT) Online Application form to be admitted to BDes and MDes.

Step 2: Take the Design Aptitude Test (DAT) exam according to the schedule and obtain the necessary percentile.

No, you cannot enrol directly in NID Vijayawada or the National Institute of Design in Andhra Pradesh. NID Vijayawada admits students through a two-stage admission test procedure. The first step is the national exam administered by NID, called the Design Aptitude Test (DAT). The interview and design portfolio constitute the second phase.

You must have received at least a 50% grade in your class 12 Diploma from an accredited board in order to be eligible for the DAT. Any of the three NID Vijaywada-offered disciplines—industrial design, textile and apparel design, and communication design—may be applied for the DAT.
