National Institute of Fashion Technology Kannur is a government institute established in 2008. It offers BDes programme for a duration of four years in four specialisations. Candidates are required to appear for NIFT Entrance Exam and the students are accepted on the basis of merit. The total seat intake is 176 and the total fee for the is INR 13,15,700 and thr Average Package offered was Rs.4.1L.

While on the other hand National Institute of Fashion Technology Chennai was established in 1995. It offers admission to a four-year BDes course in six specialisations. Admission is done through NIFT entrance exam which includes two written exams, i.e. CAT and GAT. The final selection is based on the candidate’s performance in Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI) round. The total fee is INR 12.77 lakh.

Even NIFT Chennai is equipped with state of the art faculties, well designed infrastructure etc.
