Admission to BDes at NIFT Chennai is solely entrance-based. Candidate have to fill the online application form of The National Institute of Technology (NIFT). The NIFT 2024 application fee for the OPEN category is INR 3,000. However, SC, ST, and PwD candidates need to pay only INR 1,500. Once the application form is filled, candidates have to submit the form along with the application fee.

Candidates who have twelve years of school education with minimum of five subjects by the National Open School or from a recognised board are eligible for the BDes at NIFT Chennai. Additionally, as per the Institution's guidelines, candidate's maximum age should be less than 24 years (5 years relaxation in upper age for people from reserved categories).
