The university does not offer degree courses during the Summer or Winter intakes. However, students can take accelerated courses during this period to meet the general entry requirements or get ahead in their major.

Maximum 12 credits can be taken during Summer. As for the winter intake, 3 credits can be taken. To know more on how to enrol in a course in either period, students can refer the official SUNY New Paltz website.

No, the State Uni of New York in New Paltz is not a Division I school. It's 15 varsity sports teams compete as part of the NCAA Division III. This means, student-athletes have to rely on academic scholarships to cover tuition costs at the university.

However, students get a more balanced academic-sporting experience. Sports seasons are shorter. This allows students to spend more time on academics, internships, and studying abroad.

SUNY New Paltz acceptance rate is around 62% as per US News. This means that this university is moderately selective for Indian students.

Students with US equivalent qualifications (with a GPA of 3.0 or more on a 4.0 scale), and a decent level of English proficiency have very good chances of admission here.
