National Institute of Science Education and Research part of the Homi Bhabha National Institute offers five-year Integrated BSc + MSc and a PhD course at UG and doctoral levels. The institute conducts National Entrance Screening Test (NEST) for selecting aspirants for Integrated BSc + MSc programme. Besides, NISER also accepts national-level entrance exams like GATE, JEST, GPAT, CSIR NET, etc. for PhD admission.

Eligibility Criteria:
Students appearing for their 12th board exams in 2024, including first and second droppers, are eligible. The minimum percentage required in the class 12 board exams is 55% for SC, ST, or PWD candidates and 60% for all other categories. Candidate must secure a position in the NEST 2024 merit list. The first step involves an open call by the institute, followed by shortlisting based on the eligibility criteria of the respective schools and/or scores in the national examinations such as CSIR-UGC-NET/ GATE/ JEST/ GPAT/ DBT/ ICMR/ JGEEBILS. Hello!
NISERs are not generally placement-oriented colleges. They prefer to give good quality education to the students. The course is structured focusing on a research career.
However, the placements for last year were good the highest package offered was INR 15 LPA and the average package was INR 8 LPA. Almost 80% of the batch got placed. Some of top recruiters were TCS, Infosys, Defense Research and Development Organization, Indian Space Research Organization, Council of Scientific and Industrial Research Labs, etc.

No, NISER does not offer a B.Sc course in agriculture. It offers integrated course of B.Sc+M.Sc. However, here is the list of colleges or universities offering B.Sc in Agriculture in Orissa:
