NIT Kurukshetra campus spreads over 300 acres. It has been divided into three functional sectors: the instructional sector, the residential sector for the employees, and the residential sector for the students (hostels). Students can find lodging in hostels because they are residential institutions. The MTech students are accommodated in PG hostels. NIT Kurukshetra has a very spacious library with a good collection of documents, including text and reference books, video cassettes, CD-ROMs, and many print and online journals and books. The infrastructure facilities include eight blocks and a workshop. Each block has offices for the staff, lecture halls, tutorial rooms, and various laboratories.

NIT Silchar, with a score of 55.07, ranks 40, and NIT Kurukshetra, with a score of 49.89, ranks 58 among the top 100 institutes in India under the Engineering category by NIRF 2023. NIT Kurukshetra was established in 1963, whereas NIT Silchar was established in 1967 but was included in the NIT list in 2002. The highest package offered during NIT Kurukshetra BTech placements 2023 stood at INR 62.75 LPA. The highest package offered during NIT Silchar placements 2022 was INR 44 LPA.
