NIT Surathkal - National Institute of Technology

The date of visit is intimated to the companies in June. On the allotted day, the company visits the campus, makes pre-placement talk, conducts tests and interviews and selects the candidates. The placement percentage for EEE branch is around 92%. Few of the companies for EEE branch are as follows:

The NITs are great in infrastructure, facilities and study environment and even all the branches have great placements in reputated companies which further can help you move abroad or in some great research work. If you get NIT Surathkal, it is one of the oldest (established in 1960) NITs having nearly all branches and have great result (73 students placed among 81) in terms of placements in EEE branch (the highest package of 22 LPA and average package of 8.5 LPA).

NIT -Surathkal is said to be in top 3 but its position keeps on fluctuating. If we see the MHRD ranking for engineering colleges NIT, Trichy stands at 11th rank while NIT, Warangal stands at 22nd rank. Coming to the CSE department, the curriculum of both the colleges is similar. The faculty in both the colleges is comparable as they follow government rules for recruitment of professors. Coming to the placements. In 2017 NIT, Surathkal saw a placement of 100% for the CSE department while NIT-Trichy also had 100% placement for 2017. According to me, the industry as such sees NIT-Trichy's students as more employable than that of NIT-Surathkal's. Some people may disagree. Apart from academics, NIT-Trichy focuses on all-round development of its students through various extra curricular activities. There are clubs like Delta and Spyder where students can learn and do projects on app dev, web dev, etc. ,. .
