157 some how may not be good enough for general category and without state quota. I still think that depends upon the competition and interest of people above you. but even if you don't get in to mechanical NITK, don't loose your hope. There are plenty of other colleges like NIT Allahabad or Rourekela that you can get into and build an outstanding career. Even though NITK looks a tough nut, all the best for your future endeavors.

With your credentials you can get Information technology at BIT Mesra and School of Engineering & Technology, Mizoram. Other top tier colleges will be hard to get.

With 82 in JEE and 90 in PUC your chances of getting NITK through general or OBC are very slim. With other categories getting low cut-off branches are possible. If you have State Quota you may also get other branches with category.

Hello anu,congrats and placements are decent as per what we invest and students (placement coordinator) has to make their efforts for placement like to coordinate with company and everything .this time 11 student gt mre than 5.5 lak per annum and rest are between 3.8-4.5 and few are remaining still procedure is going on .And medain salary is 4-5 lakh per annum.
