NIT Warangal and MNNIT Allahabad both accept NIMCET entrance scores for admission to the MCA course. However, NIT Allahabad is more competitive than Warangal in terms of the NIMCET cutoff. The Round 2 cutoff for NIT Allahabad stood at 181 and 178 in 2024 and 2023, respectively, for the General AI category students. While for NIT Warangal, the round 1 cutoffs were 242 and 240 in 2024 and 2023, respectively. So, it is evident that MNNIT Allahabad is very popular among the students for its MCA course.

According to NIT Warangal's Engineering NIRF report 2024, the median package offered during BTech and M.Tech placements in 2023 was INR 15 LPA and INR 10 LPA, respectively. Prior to this, NIT Warangal placements in 2023 offered the highest and average packages of INR 88 LPA and INR 17.29 LPA, respectively. The mode of NIT Warangal course admissions is online. Admission to various courses is based on merit and entrance exam scores. Some of the entrance exams that are accepted by the college include CAT, MAT, GATE, IIT JAM and NIMCET, among others, for the respective courses.
For each programme, shortlisted students have to go through a counselling round as well. However, for the MBA course, group discussions and personal interviews are conducted.
