According to the NIRF report 2023, a total of 5026 students were placed during the 2022 placement drive at Calcutta University. The median package offered to BA LLB and LLM students was INR 9.20 LPA. However, there is no placement cell at the Faculty of Law, and most students practice in court or pursue higher studies.
On the other hand, NUJS Kolkata placements 2022 concluded with a total of 118 job offers from 24 recruiters. Among them 80 offers were accepted by the 2022 graduating batch. For BA LLB, NLU Kolkata will be a better option than the Faculty of Law, Calcutta. This can be justified by seeing the rankings of the Institutes. NLU Kolkata is ranked #1 in West Bengal and # 5 out of 30 in India by NIRF. Faculty of Law, CU was ranked #2 in West Bengal and # 28 out of 39 in India by IIRF. It can be seen that NLU is a better ranked Institute. The placement packages of NLU are also better than the Faculty of Law CU. The fees of NLU is a little more than CU but the returns are also high. So overall it can be said that NLU is better than CU for BA LLB.

Yes, Faculty of Law Calcutta University is as good as NLU Kolkata. Faculty of law was ranked #28 out of 38 law college in India and is at number 2 and in calcutta. Is a well reputed Institute as NUJS. The median package offered to BA+LLB and PG students during the recent placements drive 2022 were INR 7.84 LPA and INR 9.20 LPA, respectively. The placements of this Institute are also good. Majority of the students got placed. The overall Institute is also good if we see other factors also such as faculties, infrastructure, reviews etc. So for any student trying to make his/ her career in the field of law, this Institute will be tha best

The median package offered to BA LLB and PG (2-year) students during Faculty of Law, University of Calcutta placements 2022 was 7.84 Lacs per annum and 9.20 Lacs per annum, respectively.
The college had 100% placement records for the past few years. The average package ranged between 14-18 Lacs per annum by national law firms and 46-48 Lacs per annum by international law firms. The top recruiting companies are Trilegal, Khaitan & Co., SAM, CAM and other law firms.

NLJS offers admission to LL.M. course based on CLAT scores followed by the CLAT Counselling. Candidates expecting to take admission in NLJS must have a valid score between the below mentioned range of opening and closing ranks for LLM offerd at NLU kolkata for the CLAT Round 1 All India ranks for the General category candidates:

NUJS admission to B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) and B.Sc. LL.B. (Hons.) is based on CLAT scores followed by the CLAT Counselling. The Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) has released the CLAT Last Allotment list 2024. As per the NLU Kolkata CLAT cutoff 2024, the round 5 closing rank for BA LLB (Hons) was 279 for the students belonging to the General AI category.
