Currently, Northeastern University is test-optional for the MS in Business Analytics program. It is not mandatory to submit GMAT / GRE test score for admission to MS in Business Analytics. An undergraduate-level, full-semester course in Statistics is also required. Other NEU Boston admission requirements for this programme are:

According to some of the reviews on an unofficial source, listed below reasons could be why Northeastern University is becoming competitive:
- Competition: Top universities that attract the top students are becoming more selective. So, the top students who do not make it to the top-ranked universities are moved to Tier 2 schools or universities, and so on. Therefore, because of the competition, many top applicants are turned down from their choice of schools and are forced to join a less prestigious university. As per a student alumni review, some of the things that Northeastern University students can do on the weekends are:
- Go to Penguin Pizza on Saturday for Trivia Night
- Go to Musuem
- Walk to Boylston and Newbury Street for good restaurants and shopping
- Eat at Schwarma
