Students can choose from two-course options for graduate-level (duration – four years) - BSc (Basic) and BSc (Post-Basic), postgraduate level MSc in Nursing (duration – 18 months to three years) and PhD in Nursing (tw0 to three years). Eligibility criteria for the two is mentioned below:
- BSc (Basic)– Candidates must have passed Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology and should be medically fit.
- BSc (Post-Basic) –Candidates must have passed Class 12 in PCB (Physics, Chemistry, and Biology). One has to get a certificate in GNM (General Nursing Midwifery) and register him/herself as RNRM (Registered Nurse

Those who wish to pursue a career in Nursing can apply to the degree programmes in various government and BSc Nursing colleges in Kerala. To be eligible for the course, candidates must fulfil the basic criteria given below:
- Candidates must have passed Class 12 with PCB (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) along with English as compulsory subjects from a recognised board/institute.

Only FEMALE candidates who have cleared class 12 exams or equivalent exam from a recognised board with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English subjects and have secured a minimum of 55 per cent marks in aggregate in class 12 and SC/ST category candidates should have secured 50 per cent in aggregate. At Baidyanath Institute of Nursing and Paramedical Science, General Nursing and Midwifery or GNM course is offered for a duration of three years. Candidates who want to secure a seat at BINPS must fulfil the basic eligibility criteria.
