B.Sc Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) is an Undergraduate Program offered by many colleges. Medical Laboratory Technology is an Allied Health speciality concerned with the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of diseases through the use of clinical laboratory tests. Though the Medical Lab Technologists spend less time with patients than doctors and nurses, medical laboratory professionals are just as dedicated to patient's health.
As vital members of the health care team, medical laboratory professionals play a critical role in collecting the information needed to give the best care to an ill or injured patient. The fact is that the practice of modern medicine would be impossible without the tests performed in the laboratory.

On the other hand, after completion of the nursing course, there are various career opportunities available. The nurses can get jobs in both government and private sectors. You can pursue distance learning programme (B.Sc Nursing) through IGNOU. The eligibility conditions for the programme are:
1. 10+2 with three years Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) with a minimum of two years experience in the profession. (For male nurses or nurses who have not done midwifery in the GNM program should have a certificate in any of the nursing courses of 6-9 months duration prescribed by the Indian Nursing Council in lieu of midwifery) OR
2. 10th class (Matriculation) or its equivalent with three years Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) with minimum of five years experience in the profession. (For male nurses or nurses who have not done midwifery in the GNM Programme should have a certificate in any of the nursing courses of 6-9 months duration prescribed by the Indian Nursing Council in lieu of midwifery).
