HBTU Kanpur offers limited seats in its specialised Paint Technology branch, and admission is usually through JEE Main counselling. With a CRL rank of 2.75 Lacs and OBC-NCL rank of around 96,000, chances are low but not impossible. During later rounds or spot counselling, if vacancies persist, you may be considered under the OBC category. Also, domicile candidates from Uttar Pradesh may have better chances under the state quota. Keep an eye on HBTU's UPSEE or direct counselling process post-JEE rounds.

Hello Saurabh, yes of course. You can definitely seek lateral entry in in the branch of paint Technology in the institution of your choice after completion of your diploma in engineering. Complete details about admission procedure and availability of number of seats can be obtained from the website of the directorate of technical education of your state.
Best wishes to you.
