Over the years, many top recruiters, such as Amazon, Infosys and Samsung, etc. are picking PU students for various job roles across different courses. Taking about BA LLB, while the placement rate of the university has improved during placements 2021 compared to the past two years, the median salary offered to the students has fallen drastically. During 2021 placements, the median salary offered to BA LLB of PU stood at INR 0.5 LPA compared to INR 2.16 LPA in 2020 and INR 2.50 LPA in 2019. BA LLB median salary trends and placement rate witnessed in the past year during Panjab University placements are presented below:

SLCU, Bangalore is a part of Christ Univerisity, is approved by Bar Council of India conducts a five year BBA LLB programmes. Punjab University is a public collegiate university located in Chandigarh. Universities two departments for teaching law.Both departments have seperate academic blocks. Panjab University offers LLM as one year course as well as two year course. The syllabus for both is different, although both the courses contain similar subjects. Punjab University is providing total 50 seats for LLM of one year course. Which consists of 42 Indian + 4 NRI + 2 Foreign National students. Merit is calculated taking 50% of the class +2 percentage including weightages (if any) and 50% of the UGLAW Entrance Test marks. For B.A./B.Com LL.B. Merit is to be determined on the basis of score for which the percentage of marks obtained by the candidate in the qualifying examination. In every semester in each paper/practical, as the case may be, maximum marks shall be 100, while minimum pass marks in each paper shall be 36% individually and 45% in aggregate i.e. total of all papers, as the case may be, of that semester taken altogether. The Department of Law at Panjab University has not released the 2023 placement statistics. However, the University has released the NIRF report 2023 for the Law department. As per the report, 210 LLB and 1 LLM students were placed during the Department of Law Panjab University placements 2022. The median package offered to LLB and LLM students was INR 2.30 LPA and INR 8 LPA, respectively. A fluctuating trend was recorded in the median package offered to LLB students over the past three years (2020 to 2022). Likewise, the median package for LLM has been fluctuating over the past three years.

The minimum cut off scores for PU LLB 2024 entrance exam is 20 out of 100 for General/ OBC category, and 15 out of 100 marks for SC/ ST/ PwD categories.Have passed FA/F.Sc./ 'A' Level or equivalent examination with a minimum of 55% marks. Have passed the Law Admission Test (LAT) conducted by HEC with 50% passing marks and with a validity date for admission. Must have appeared in the PU Admission Test conducted by Punjab University. The candidates must provide equivalence/verification of their academic documents from the Inter Board Committee of Chairmen (IBCC) at the time of admission.
