Yes, Indian students would have to pay a tax only if they make more than INR 59 K every month. The tax will then be paid to the German state where they are currently working. To pay the tax, students would first need a tax number.

Indian students can work 20 hrs/week during the semester in the UK. They can work 40 hrs/week (or full-time) during semester breaks. To be eligible to work part-time in the UK, students would need to meet the conditions given below.

  • Should be enrolled in a full-time, degree-level or higher course at a UKVI licnesed college or university
  • Can only work 10 hrs/week for below-degree courses
  • Must have a UK student visa with work conditions clearly mentioned on the BRP
  • The college or university should have a track record of compliance

Indian students can work for 20 hours every week aongside their studies in Princeton. This rises to 40 hours, when there is a semester break. The university advises students to stay within the work hour limit. If it is not followed, the US government can revoke the student's visa and deport him/her.
