More than 300 colleges offer the Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Applications (PGDCA) program among them, more than 270 institutes provide full-time (regular) classes. Candidates interested in a full-time PGDCA course can go for colleges like S.S. Jain Subodh PG College, MCM DAV College for Women, Kanya Maha Vidyalaya, Jaipur National University, etc. However, for distance applicants, PGDCA IGNOU is a great option.

The NET exam does not accept candidates who have finished their PGDCA programme from PRSU or any other institution. Before applying for the National Eligibility Test (NET) candidates need to hold a master's degree in M.Sc., MA and M.Com and equivalent fields and achieve at least 55% marks with 50% being the minimum for candidates from reserved categories. The Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Applications (PGDCA) functions as a Diploma whereas it does not fulfill the criteria for holding a master's degree. To take the NET examination candidates need to hold MCA or equivalent degree in any field of study.

NIELIT Shimla application process is conducted online on the institute's official website. For most courses, the institute accepts application throughout the year. However, when a candidate applies determines the cycle in which they will appear for the NIELIT exam. The exam is conducted in two cycle, i.e. January and July. The last date to apply for the January session typically falls in October of the previous year. The last date to apply for the July session is expected to fall in March/April.

Yes, many PGDCA specializations usually have better placement records, such as web development, database management, and software testing, leading to more and better job opportunities compared to the regular PGDCA program, as these fields currently have high demand in the IT industry.

However, the placements also depend on the specific colleges' placement records and the recruiting companies they invite.

Though the syllabus for PGDCA entrance exams is similar to the MCA entrance exam, due to its low competition level  you can easily get a  seat in a top PGDCA college in India.
