You have an option of joining R&D organisations such as ISRO, DRDO, CSIR or Private sector Research centres. You can also take teaching as a career.

you need to give entrance test at some of the coll and choose your area of interest. You need to write research paper over your course of 2yrs and genrate research on ur area of interest.

MA is a degree you can get by studying in two ways. One is full time or class based and one is distance learning. However, one can do MA in any domain in distance learning and they can appear for M.Phil/PhD. Since these two are also degrees you can earn by joining into those fields. Where as PhD is the highest degree qualification for a person to learn and to create knowledge in the field one will go for research.

Most students earning their Ph.D. in History go on to become professors at the university level. Professors are required to both teach and conduct research on behalf of the university and then present that research at conferences with other professors. Some history PhD graduates become historians, compiling and interpreting historical information contained in various archives and artifacts.

Outstanding applicants with Bachelors degree in Engineering/Technology with an excellent academic record and aptitude for research are considered for direct admission to the PhD programme of Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology. Candidates must have secured CGPA of 9.0/10 or better and a valid GATE score of 675 or better. B.E./B. Tech students from IITs with CGPA better than 9.0/10 do not require GATE.
