About 90% of the students work in the social sector and 80% of our alumni now work in disadvantaged parts of India at the grassroots. Public policy focuses on the processes by which various types of policies and regulations that affect members of the public are created and enforced. You'll learn about the executive, legislative and administrative processes involved, as well as how to analyze and develop policies and conduct relevant research.

After completing a Masters in Public Policy from NLSIU Bangalore, the job prospects are as follows:
1. Policy Analyst: You can become a freelance policy analyst or work with a news agency. The average salary is around Rs. 3 Lacs to Rs. 7 Lacs based on experience.
2. Welfare Officer: You can work for NGOs and government organizations. The average salary is around Rs. 3.6 Lacs per year.
3. Consultant: You can work as a policy consultant for government or semi-government agencies. The average salary is around Rs. 4 Lacs per year.
4. Project head: You can work on a project related to public policy or as a young professional. The average salary is around Rs. 3.8 Lacs per year.
5. Research Analyst: You can apply for positions as a researcher in a policy think tank. The salary can be as high as Rs. 7 Lacs per year.
