Given below are some types of Public Administration course classified based on their mode of education, along with a brief description:

Types of Public Administration Courses

Course Details

Full-Time Public Administration

A regular or full-time Public Administration course is one of the most popular options opted by students. In this students attend the lectures and seminars in the college premises. It aids students in their holistic development. There is a lot of scope for extracurricular activities at the college or inter-college level.

Distance Public Administration

In the Distance mode of the Public Administration course, the students do not attend regular college. They receive study materials and get access to the student portal. They would only have to appear in person for seminars and final examinations.

Online Public Administration

An Online Public Administration Programme can be pursued by candidates who wish to pursue the course without attending regular college or appearing for offline exams. The admission process, lecture delivery, submission of assignments and semester exams are conducted online.

No, it is generally not necessary to have studied Political Science in 12th standard to pursue BA LLB in India. Most universities and law schools require a 10+2 qualification from any stream. However, having a background in Political Science, Economics, History, or English can be beneficial as these subjects often align with the BA LLB curriculum. For entrance exams like CLAT or LSAT, general knowledge, legal aptitude, and English are crucial, not specific 12th-grade subjects.

BHU (Banaras Hindu University) is one of the best central universities in India for BA (Hons) in Political Science. It has a strong faculty, good academic environment, and active department with seminars and discussions. Admission is through CUET, and the cut-off is usually high. BHU offers good hostel, library, and campus facilities. It's a great choice for students serious about Political Science.

For a BA in Geography or Political Science, both regular and distance learning options are available. Some top regular colleges include Miranda House, Hindu College (Delhi), and St. Xavier's College (Kolkata) for Political Science, and Kirori Mal College and Indraprastha College for Women for Geography. For distance learning, IGNOU, DU's SOL, and other universities like Annamalai and Alagappa offer BA in Political Science. For Geography, IGNOU, Andhra University, and Pune University are options.
