For Ph.D admission, you need to get in touch with universities itself, more specifically the research heads of the departments. Networks and good recommendation letters are required, most importantly you will need to share your research questions, publications etc.

To join Political Science you need to choose Arts/Humanities. Political Science is subject, where you will learn many things about the political activities that you would have never know. I myself was a political Science student it is fun to learn the International and National politics. If you choose political Science as a main subject you can do lots of things in that. You can be a professor, you can go on to study law and many more options would be open to you. You made the right decision, live up to it.
