You can get admission in other good colleges and as well in Hindu College. Maybe not in the 1st cut-off, but you can get admission in 3rd or 4th cut-off. You can admission in some other good colleges of DU which suits you and your heart in 1st or 2nd cut-off, and afterwards, if the cut-off of Hindu College comes down, you can take admission in it, but for that, you will have to keep watching the cut-offs carefully. Not only Hindu is a good college, there are some other good colleges like Hansraj, St. Stephen's, Ramjas, Miranda House (for girls), etc. Fill other good universities/colleges forms also. You have got good marks. Rest is in God's hands. Just be patient and lots of best wishes.

There are many pros and cons of studying through distance or in SOL. You have to keep a number of factors in mind while deciding. Though distance education degrees are increasingly recognized all over and you can study anytime - anywhere, also saves a lot of money, working while studying there still exist a question on its credibility and recognition amongst employers and further education particularly in India. It is difficult to suggest if it is good or bad since it will depend on your own priorities and needs. Keep a check on the recognition, UGC approval, employment of students, your career plans if any and decide accordingly.
