The 2024 CUET-UG cutoff for BA (Hons) Political Science at RD College (Tripura University) was 86 for General category. The 2025 cutoff hasn't been released yet but is expected to be similar, likely between 80–90. Category-wise variations apply. No, it is generally not necessary to have studied Political Science in 12th standard to pursue BA LLB in India. Most universities and law schools require a 10+2 qualification from any stream. However, having a background in Political Science, Economics, History, or English can be beneficial as these subjects often align with the BA LLB curriculum. For entrance exams like CLAT or LSAT, general knowledge, legal aptitude, and English are crucial, not specific 12th-grade subjects.

BHU (Banaras Hindu University) is one of the best central universities in India for BA (Hons) in Political Science. It has a strong faculty, good academic environment, and active department with seminars and discussions. Admission is through CUET, and the cut-off is usually high. BHU offers good hostel, library, and campus facilities. It's a great choice for students serious about Political Science.
