Pondicherry University Eligibility

Students can follow this process to fill out the PU CET (UG) application form 2026.

Here is a general PU CET (UG) eligibility criteria to appear for the exam:

Education Background: Completion or enrollment in a 12th standard from a recognised Institution

Minimum Academic Performance: Minimum passing mark average of 50%.

Course Science Specifics: For courses that focus on the study of Plants (botany) and Animals (zoology), a minimum of 3 subjects which include Physics, Chemistry & Biology should be completed. These subjects/qualifications include English as well.

To be eligible for PU CET (UG) 2026:
 You must have passed (or be appearing in) 10+2 exam from a recognised board. 
 You typically need at least 50% marks in 10+2 (with applicable subject requirements depending on the programme).
 You must have taken required subject combinations (e.g., PCB or PCM, or Maths where specified). 
 There's no specific upper age limit.

To be eligible for the DDE Pondicherry University BBA programme, students must have successfully completed Class 12 or its equivalent from a recognised board. Meeting the requirements ensures applicants are prepared for undergraduate-level management  studies.

To be eligible for the DDE Pondicherry University BCom programme, students must have successfully completed Class 12 or its equivalent from a recognised board. Meeting the requirements ensures applicants are prepared for undergraduate-level commerce studies.

In the case of B.Tech CSE admission oriented to Pondicherry University, the applicants should have cleared Class 12 (10+2 academic subject), 45 percent aggregate (40 percent reserved category) in subjects Mathematics, Physics, and one of the following optional Subjects: Chemistry, Biotechnology, Computer Science, IT, Electronics, and Biology. The entrance into Computer Science depends mostly on the grades that one has achieved in the CUET (Common University Entrance Test).

The eligibility criteria may vary depending on the MBA program. For example the MBA in international business programme requires a valid  CAT score, while the MBA in the hospital management programme requires a specific degree  or two years of work experience.

To be eligible for the Pondicherry University BCom (Hons.) course, students must fulfil the basic eligibility criteria, i.e. Class 12 from a recognised board having Accountancy with Commerce/Business Studies. 

Under the BSc programme, Pondicherry University offers various specialisations. These specialisations are distributed amongst the university’s affiliated colleges. Thus, each course may have different eligibility criteria depending on the college. However, the common eligibility criterion is a pass in Class 12.
