Retail sector is one of the most booming sectors Globally. People from all sorts of educational background are coming forward and becoming a part of retail industry. The reason behind that is the huge number of opportunities you can get while working in this sector. The career prospects are also great. So long story short if you have 12 years of experience in Retail that is a big thing. Talking about courses, you can choose amongst Diploma, Certification and a Masters Degree. What you choose is completely your choice but in this answer I will make sure you get the perfect idea of what the courses are, how you can choose amongst them and what opportunities lie ahead respectively. There are two levels of Diploma courses available I. e Basic Diploma for 1 year or Post Graduate Diploma for 2years. ELIGIBILITY:- (1) For Basic Diploma there is no such Specific Eligibility Criteria that you need to fulfill. (2) For Post Graduate Diploma, you must be a Bachelor's Degree holder in any Stream from a recognised University under UGC and a basic knowledge of Retail is expected. Talking about the fees of the above mentioned courses, so a Basic Diploma in Retail will be having a fees of Rs 40000-80000 whereas Rs 1.5-1.8 lac for Post Graduate Diploma. As you already have experience in Retail so I am assuming that you would be a Graduate. So next option you have is Masters in Retail Management/ MBA ( Retail Management)
ELIGIBILITY:-
Graduate with minimum 45% marks in Bachelor's from any recognised University. People from any background can apply for this course. Talking about the fees, in any average Institution a Masters in Retail Management may cost you somewhere around Rs 2-5 lac and Rs 7-10lac in any A level institution like Symbiosis Pune. If you want to get admission into A Level institutions you need to qualify CAT XAT or MAT. Someone with a Master's in Retail Management can get ample opportunities in Restaurants, airlines, logistics, Multiplex or Insurance Agencies.
