RPF Constables are placed in the pay band of INR 5200-20200 and carries a grade pay of INR 2000. This helped calculate their basic pay and allowances. With the implementation of the 7th Central Pay Commission, the grade pay system was replaced by the pay matrix. The pay level of RPF Constable start at the pay level 03 with the a basic salary of INR 21,700.

RPF Constable exam will be conducted by SSC. Both male and female candidates are eligible to apply for the exam. Candidates need to prepare well. Recruitment is done based on the vacancies.

There is Physical Efficiency Test/Physical Measurement Test in RPF Constable exam. The structure of the exam is given below.

Yes, female candidates can apply for RPF Constable post. The age of the candidates should be between 18 years to 28 years. The educational qualification prescribed for the exam is Class 10 pass or equivalent from recognised board. Female candidates should have a minimum height of 157 cm. For both males and females, the chest measurement should be 80 cm (85 cm with expansion) for male candidates.

Based on the RPF Constable cut off for CBT, candidates are selected for PET/PST. Following are the factors that influence RPF Constable cut off marks:
- Number of Vacancies: Higher the vacancies are cut off is less. In case the vacancy is less, the cut off is more.
- Difficulty level of the exam: If the exam is hard, the cut off is less. In case the exam is easy, the cut off is more.
- Higher number of candidates appearing in the exam boosts competition thus leading to more cut off marks
