With a 77 percentile in JEE and 77% in your 12th CBSE board exam, admission to the Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) programme at SASTRA University may not be easy, but not impossible. The university accepts students based on a combined score of the JEE Main and marks in the 12th grade.

Admission to SASTRA University's B.Tech Lateral Entry program is granted on the basis of merit earned in an accredited diploma program. Since SASTRA admissions are mostly merit-based, the cutoff trends for lateral entry programs are not available . However, depending on the volume of applicants and diploma achievement levels, the rivalry may differ throughout areas such as computer science, electronics and communication engineering, and others.
The B.Tech Lateral Entry tuition for the 2023 academic year was roughly 65,000 per semester, plus extra costs for sports and development, for a program cost of about 4,28,825 in total

Given your 979 intermediate exam grades and 89 percentile JEE Mains scores, you stand a good chance of being accepted into SASTRA Universitys Computer Science Engineering (CSE) programme in Thanjavur. There are two routes for admissions:
Stream 1: Comprising normalised 12th marks (75%) and the JEE Mains (25%) accounts for 70% of seats.
Stream 2: Covering the remaining 30% based only on 12th grade grades.
The merit-based requirements of Stream 1 are adequately met by your scores. But there is fierce rivalry for CSE, and the final admission results rely on the total number of applicants and the cutoffs

Eligibility criteria for Shastra university includes 12th grade with a minimum of 45% aggregate and Mathematics and Physics as compulsory subjects. You must also not have completed 20 years of age as of August 1, 2025.
The admission is based on merit based in two ways. 70% of seats are filled based on a combination JEE Mains and +2 marks.The weightage for JEE Main scores and +2 marks is 25% and 75%, respectively .And 30% of seats are filled based on the marks obtained in class 10+2.

The admission in SASTRA University is based upon two streams: Stream 1: 75% marks of class 12 boards and 25% marks of JEE Mains is considered for ranking. 70% of the seats get filled with this stream. As your percentile I'm JEE Mains is less, your rank will get increased. Must have passed 12th from recognised State Board / Central Board or any other Board accepted by SASTRA as equivalent to 10+2, with a minimum aggregate of 60% marks in all subjects.

Sastra University is one of the reputed universities in the region known for providing quality education to its students.
The interested candidate should have scored at least 50% marks in the 10+2 examination. The university offers a 5-year Integrated B.A., LL.B., (Hons.)/ B.B.A., LL.B., (Hons.) / B.Com., LL.B., (Hons.). The admissions are done on a merit basis. For the current academic year the tuition fees in INR 70,000 per semester. A CLAT (Common Law Admission Test) score of more than 85 is considered good for general category students.
