Currently, the following individuals must still submit their SAT or ACT scores:
Those who choose to enroll in the expedited seven-year B.A. or M.D.
Candidates who are homeschooled.
Candidates who attend high schools that donot use a formal grading system and simply offer narrative evaluations.
(Test is optional for admission periods 2021–2023). Most candidates do not need to take a test to apply to GW as recruited NCAA Division I athletes. When assessing each application, they use a comprehensive method. There is no minimum GPA or SAT, ACT requirement for applicants who decide to submit their standardized test results.

The average SAT score for admitted students is between 1350-1510, and the average ACT score is between 28-33. However, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill has altered some of its testing procedures as a result of interruptions brought on by the COVID-19 outbreak.
