The State Bank of India holds the SBI Clerk test each year to select qualified applicants for the Junior Associates (Customer Support and Sales) position. Three exams are required for SBI Clerk selection: the preliminary exam, the main exam, and a language competence test. Three sections make up the SBI Clerk preliminary exam: reasoning ability, numerical ability, and English language. English Language, Numerical Ability, and Reasoning Ability are tested on the main exam. There are 200 marks available for the main exam. Those who pass the main exam are invited to take a language proficiency exam.

Only those applicants from the waitlist who receive the required number of points in the primary exam are chosen. The waitlist is open for business one year after the SBI Clerk final result is announced.The waiting list for SBI Clerk III is currently up and will run through February 8, 2024. Along with the results, the SBI Clerk test scorecard is made public. The necessary credentials must be entered by candidates in order to download the scorecard. Candidates do not receive hard copies of the scorecard in the mail. The scorecard includes the cutoff marks, total marks, and section-wise marks, among other things. Candidates' scores are determined after deducting points for incorrect responses. The penalty for providing an incorrect answer is one-fourth of the mark deducted for that question.
