Hello aspirant! First of all its not necessary that you need a separate engineering department to study artificial intelligence and machine learning. These courses come under CSE and can be chosen as electives also in IT or ECE. Now coming to the colleges in Tamil Nadu:
1. IIT MADRAS
2. NIT TRICHY
3. IIIT KANCHEEPURAM
4. Anna University If you want it as a specialisation then go for VIT Vellore B.Tech in CSE with specialisation in AI AND ML. If not any of these then SRM main campus is also a good choice.

The fees structure in government colleges are very affordable as compared to private colleges. The tuition fee alone will cost you around 1800 for a year.
