Dear aspirant, there is very less chance that it will be in category 1, most probably you will get it in category 2 at VIT Vellore campus. VIT Vellore mostly brags about its 95% placement in CSE category, so obviously most of the people go for CSE and other specialisation courses at VIT Vellore. This is one of the main reasons why all other branches at VIT Vellore are vacant initially. Almost all the categories of CSE are full at 30000 rank but the Group A branches at every campus of VIT is almost empty. So you should go for biotechnology in this situation and you will get in category 2. The disadvantage of taking biotechnology at category 2 is that the fees of category 2 is 1 Lacs more than category 1. Hope it helps.
