No, maths is not at all compulsory.Commerce is much better than maths because in future we all have to grow up with commerce even in our everyday life.In commerce we will learn real life applicable subject in maths we have all years old subject which we can't at any part of life it's not that worth what societies tell us.
You go with commerce if possible it help you grow in your future and while doing commerce you will have lot of time in that time you can do any other course or you can learn any other extra skill like about IPO or mutual funds investment in which by consistent investment you can earn large amount of money gain knowledg

Yes, in the wake of finishing your B.Tech you can do your Master degree with M.Sc. Maths. But as I would see it doing Master degree with M.Tech is a superior alternative for you. Because it's identified with your study and in the wake of doing your lord degree in M.Tech you can show signs of improvement occupation as contrast with subsequent to finishing your M.Sc. So, it's superior to anything you can go for the M.Tech.

I know bad CGPA of 2.44/4 with passing CGPA criteria of 2 can get admission in Masters in electrical engineering in TU which is equivalent to 3.34 in german scale. Also LOM, SOP and good score in IELTS matters a lot in securing admission, hence there is a good hope for low GPA students.
