The institutes look for a graduation in Science with minimum 50 % marks, as the eligibility criteria for admission in this course. There are also provisions of an entrance test conducted by the institute, as the selection criteria. However, the students with a background of graduation in wood Science and technology have preferences.

If you want to study Microbiology, B.Sc in Microbiology is three year programme after completing class 12th Science with Physics, chemistry, biology as a subject. So, after class 10th, you have to get admission in class 11th Science, if you want to go for Microbiology.

When you study CS, there are various algorithms for which you have to have a good understanding of concepts like permutations and combinations, matrices, probability etc. that's why they ask for the subject. If they have asked for it then nothing can be done. You should have gone through the prospectus/ brochure of this course beforehand.
