B.Tech in food technology is not a very old branch and due to this students hesitate to select this. However, with modern lifestyle and requirement of new generation of eating quality and nutritious food, employment chances have increased quite a bit. If you want to choose your career as a Junior Research Fellow or an Assistant Professor then you can apply for the NET JRF Exam. You are eligible to take this exam if you have a minimum of 55% marks in your Post graduation. You also can find various opportunities in a governmental organization like DRDO, VSSC, ISRO, SSPL, etc.
You can also apply for jobs in Energy Plants, Automobile Industry.

If you opted for Mathematics subject in IIT JAM exam then yes, you should prepare for this subject. First step is to check the full syllabus of your subject and then understand the exam pattern. Mark the important topics, topics in which you are weak and topics that have more weight-age in the exam. This way you can easily concentrate on your studies by dividing topics into segments. Make sure to do revisions on a regular basis, make your proper study plan and follow it. Mathematics subject requires more practice so keep practicing question, get previous year's question papers and solve them, clear your doubts and practice as much
